Abbas’ installation, inspired by historical fountains, uses marble and found materials from the Avenue’s own storage to create seating and water features. A reminder of the area’s industrial past, the piece invites reflection and rest, with materials set to return to their original stockpiles when the installation is complete.

ABBAS AKHAVAN
Abbas Akhavan is a Montreal-based visual artist whose recent work includes site-specific installations, sculpture, video, and performance, all responding to the environments in which they are created. Born in Tehran, Iran, Akhavan’s practice explores the interplay between space, material, and context.
