If you enjoy thought-provoking lyrics and clever wordplay then don’t miss Omar Musa’s spoken word performance at Quoz Art Fest. In his work, the Bornean-Australian rapper, poet, visual artist, and author references identity and race, belonging, masculinity, and the comfort he finds in his Malay ancestry. Through his writing and music, he also confronts the dark realities of Australian history and culture.

His often hard-hitting work has earned him critical acclaim. The artist has released four poetry books and four hip-hop records; he also received a standing ovation at Tedx Sydney at the Sydney Opera House. His one-man play, Since Ali Died, won Best Cabaret Show at the Sydney Theatre Awards in 2018. Omar Musa has performed at venues such as the Brixton Academy in London, Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City and The National Museum in Brasilia, Brazil.
