This exhibition will feature a selection of works from her various commissions including WaterAid and the Nobel Peace Prize presenting itself as a portal into Aida’s universe on the concept of utilizing creativity and art as a tool for change. Amongst works from these acclaimed commissions, Muluneh will debut a work from her newest series in which she explores a new process that includes the use of hand painting acrylic within her photography.

Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Muluneh is a world leading photographer whose work can be found in several international publications and has been collected by major international museums including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art, Hood Museum and The RISD Museum of Art to name a few.

Advocacy is integral to Aida Muluneh through both her work and her person, as beyond her artistic practice, Muluneh has been an advocate for the development of photography in Africa through various educational activities and as a leading expert in Africa in which she developed Addis Foto Fest and Africa Foto Fair, events that promote emerging talents from Africa and the global south to the global market through partnerships with international institutions.
